The Hingham Public Schools invite you to a special dedication ceremony celebrating the life and legacy of Camilla Roundtree, beloved former METCO Director who served our community for over 40 years. Camilla, who passed away in 2022, leaves behind a lasting legacy that continues to inspire the Hingham and METCO communities.

Join us as we dedicate the beautiful new Foster School library in Camilla's honor, with METCO alumni, families, and students sharing personal stories of her lasting impact.

Serving as Hingham’s METCO Director for 40 years, Mrs. Roundtree exemplified civic service and leadership. When the METCO program began in 1967, there were no buses. Mrs. Roundtree used her own vehicle to transport METCO students between Boston and Hingham. She cared for every student as if they were her own, forging deep and impactful relationships with countless families along the way.

Mrs. Roundtree was also a dedicated mentor, advocate, Girl Scout leader, and food bank volunteer. She was recognized as Hingham Citizen of the Year in 2003 and honored by the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 2012 for her outstanding service to the community. Her legacy lives on through the lives of every family she touched.

Join us in celebrating her life, her contributions, and the lasting impact she made on the Hingham and METCO communities as we dedicate this space in her name.
