This month, HHS seniors got a head start on adulting at the Credit for Life Fair, a hands-on personal finance simulation that lets students step into their financial future before graduation. They built budgets based on future careers and tackled real-world expenses like housing, transportation, food, and student loans, gaining practical skills they’ll need in the months and years ahead.

Last week, our 5th graders spent the day at Hingham Middle School for Move Up Day!
They explored their future school, met some of their teachers, and heard from Principal Derek Smith about what a typical day is like at HMS. He shared what to expect in 6th grade and all the exciting after school clubs students can join.
They also took part in a scavenger hunt, discovering important spots like the guidance office and the nurse's office while starting to feel more at home in their new school.
We loved having you, Class of 2032. We cannot wait to see you at HMS this fall!

Our Integrated Pre-K students explored plant parts through hands-on learning! 🌱 They used scissors and tweezers to dissect flowers, identified seeds, and planted their own to discover how plants grow. 🌸 This lesson is part of our “What Grows in Your Garden” unit, helping them connect with the world around them and understand the importance of caring for nature.

Sometimes you just need to breathe out. 🧘♀️
Shoutout to the Breathe Out Club for making Breathe Out Day a major success! 🙌
With finals around the corner and the pressure on, students got a much needed break during study halls to relax, recharge, and reconnect with calming activities and fun games with friends.

Our 8th graders had an unforgettable time in Washington, D.C. over April vacation! 🇺🇸 They visited Arlington National Cemetery, Capitol Hill, the White House, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the MLK Memorial, and more. Visiting D.C. is an important part of the 8th grade social studies experience at HMS, helping bring their lessons to life.
Shoutout to all of our amazing chaperones who joined our students on this incredible trip! ✈️

Congratulations to our incredible Global Citizenship Program (GCP) seniors! 🎉🌍
This week, our seniors showcased their hard work and passion at the annual GCP Symposium, presenting their impressive portfolios and earning their Global Competency Certificate! After dedicating 2-3 years to exploring diverse cultures and global issues, their achievements truly stood out.
The audience was captivated by fascinating projects, covering topics like Chinese traditional brush painting, unexploded ordnances in Laos, Dominican dance styles, the evolution of the Irish language, economic development in Panama, and more! To top it all off, guests enjoyed global cuisine and a vibrant Caribbean steel drum performance.
We couldn’t be prouder of our GCP graduates for their commitment to broadening their understanding and empathy through years of coursework and hands-on experiences!
Interested in joining the GCP Certificate Program? We’re now accepting applications! Any current 9th or 10th grader can apply. Applications are due this Monday, May 19, by 2:45 PM in the main office. Foster’s new 3-floor mural is absolutely breathtaking! "The Foster School Mural: A World Within A World" by Joshua Winer, Artist, was installed over April break and represents the marsh ecosystem right next door to Foster. It beautifully honors the environment we’re part of, giving students and staff a chance to connect with the world around them.

💌 During Random Acts of Kindness Week in February, the 1st Grade Kindness Club at Foster School created handmade Valentine’s Day cards for Linden Ponds residents and painted colorful Kindness Rocks for a new garden at Foster.
Thanks to the leadership of Ms. McGrath and Ms. Bessoud, students had the chance to spread joy, build empathy, and take pride in making a difference in their community. 🌱
