Earlier this month, Hingham High School students were honored at the Biannual Andrew Warhaftig Catching Kindness Awards for being caught doing exceptionally kind things without the expectation of recognition. This unique awards ceremony serves as a powerful reminder of the compassion and character that make Hingham such a special place. Congratulations to our award recipients!

The DOCK at Hingham High School is officially underway!🚧 Last week, members of the Hingham Sports Partnership (HSP), donors, school officials, students, community members, and local legislators came together to break ground on a new 2,500 sq. ft. wellness facility. This state of the art space, opening in 2025, is designed to support students’ physical fitness and mental well-being.

The winter concert season is off to a wonderful start, thanks to incredible performances from the HHS and HMS choruses on Monday, and the HHS band and orchestra on Tuesday. ❄️🎶

Hingham 4th graders have come together to raise funds for students in Swannanoa, North Carolina, impacted by Hurricane Helene. Through lemonade stands, craft sales, and even helping with chores, students have worked hard to support their peers in need.
A special shoutout to the teachers who helped organize this effort: Eileen Farrell from Foster, Susan Willison from Plymouth River, and Brian DeMarco from East.

Kathryn (Katie) Roberts was unanimously appointed as the permanent Superintendent of Hingham Public Schools by the School Committee last night, pending contract negotiations. Hingham Middle School students have gotten in the holiday spirit by donating over 500 items to the Hingham Food Pantry! Along with this generous donation, middle schoolers had fun participating in a turkey trot last Wednesday. Great job HMS!

Foster Elementary 3rd graders finished their Wampanoag studies today with a fun Wetu Walkthrough! Students built unique models of Wetus and Longhouses using natural materials, inspired by how the Wampanoag people lived. Classmates, staff, and administrators toured the displays, asked questions, and shared positive feedback.











This weekend, Christina O'Connor, HHS Social Studies teacher, Deirdre Anderson, Hingham Historical Society Executive Director, and Andy Hoey, K-12 Social Studies Director, presented at the National Council for the Social Studies annual conference in Boston.
Their presentation, Partnering with Your Local Historical Society: Student Engagement and Historical Thinking, explored how collaboration can bring history to life for students.
We're fortunate to have such a strong historical society in Hingham, making it easy to connect students with local history in meaningful ways.

Mrs. Lucas’ Kindergarteners at East Elementary are showing their support of our Boys Soccer team as they take on Oliver Ames in their first-ever State Championship game tomorrow at 12:30 PM at Worcester State. See you there! 😤


After this week, all grade 10 health students will be certified in CPR through the American Heart Association. They’ve mastered CPR for adults, children, and infants, learned to relieve choking, and how to use an AED during cardiac emergencies. Congratulations to all for gaining these life-saving skills!




The Second Annual Hingham Unified vs. Hingham Police Basketball Game will be played this Thursday night at 6:30pm at Hingham High School. All donations collected will support our HHS Unified Program. See you there!
