Michael Page in the house! ☀️☁️🙌
Michael Page, a local Channel 5 meteorologist and Hingham local, recently visited Foster Elementary 3rd graders to explain hurricanes, high and low pressure, jet streams, the technical definition of a blizzard (not what we all thought!) and types of clouds. It all reinforced what students learned in their science and weather units this fall and we all walked away with new knowledge.
Huge shoutout to the Foster PTO @foster_pto_02043 for making this fantastic learning experience possible for our students! 👏

Adelia Day 2025 🦋 Today, January 7, marks the inaugural Adelia the Wondergirl Day, proclaimed by the Hingham Selectboard to honor Adelia Szklut, a beloved second grader who passed away after battling a rare form of brain cancer. The day featured classroom kindness activities, locker affirmations, and “Buzz Awards” recognizing acts of kindness. As South School and the Hingham community honor her legacy, we encourage everyone to mark January 7th with a special act of kindness.🩵

Congratulations to the winners of Hingham’s annual Patriots Pen essay contest! 🎉
Students from Hingham Middle School and Hingham High School were celebrated earlier this month at VFW Post 6053 for their thoughtful and inspiring essays on "My Voice in American Democracy."
The Patriot’s Pen contest gives students a chance to reflect on what American democracy means to them and how they see their role in shaping its future. Amazing work to everyone who participated!
