Adelia Day 2025 🦋 Today, January 7, marks the inaugural Adelia the Wondergirl Day, proclaimed by the Hingham Selectboard to honor Adelia Szklut, a beloved second grader who passed away after battling a rare form of brain cancer. The day featured classroom kindness activities, locker affirmations, and “Buzz Awards” recognizing acts of kindness. As South School and the Hingham community honor her legacy, we encourage everyone to mark January 7th with a special act of kindness.🩵

Hingham 4th graders have come together to raise funds for students in Swannanoa, North Carolina, impacted by Hurricane Helene. Through lemonade stands, craft sales, and even helping with chores, students have worked hard to support their peers in need.
A special shoutout to the teachers who helped organize this effort: Eileen Farrell from Foster, Susan Willison from Plymouth River, and Brian DeMarco from East.
