The Hingham High Varsity Volleyball team and the Cancer Kids First Club hosted their inaugural Dig Turquoise event in honor of Adelia the Wonder Girl, raising $1,800 for the Dana Farber/Boston Children's Brain Tumor Center through a bake sale and donations. Senior Clara Reive, club president and player on the team introduced Adelia’s mom, Meryl, who expressed her gratitude to the crowd. 🩵 Special thanks to the organizers and everyone who donated to support this important cause. While students had their first half day of the school year, our teachers participated in professional development led by Dr. Jessica Minahan, co-author of The Behavior Code. Dr. Minahan’s presentation focused on strategies for supporting students with anxiety, oppositional behavior, and executive functioning challenges. The approach outlined in The Behavior Code offers a systematic way to identify the causes of these behaviors and apply proven techniques to help students succeed. Educators left with practical, research-based strategies they can use to transform the classroom experience for students facing behavioral and emotional challenges.
